Does the % of DC instead of LL work in terms of number of assignments or in number of GHz Days?

Is there a way to regenerate a worktodo.txt for assignments on PrimeNet like what GPU72 has? Perhaps it's there and I'm missing it.
I ask because over a year ago I took out some TF work and lost the worktodo.txt file, yet those assignments still linger on my manual_extension page, and I have no idea what bit levels I promised and need checking, nor do I see a way to release those assignments. |

That shows my unexpired assignments. The expired assignments still show up on the extensions page. I tried renewing one, and it now says I have 60 days left, but it doesn't show up on my assignments page. |

That might be more of a bug on the extensions page. It probably shouldn't show expired assignments since they wouldn't really be available for extension? The message it gives about having 60 days left is also probably just from that page returning some default text. I can see in the database that the exponent in question "75801821" was last updated on Feb 18 (2 days ago) but it is in fact still showing as expired. You could try going to the manual assignments page and request that same particular exponent again to get a brand new assignment? It should let you do that as long as it hasn't been reassigned to someone else yet. I suppose a more complicated workaround on the page itself, for James and George, would be to allow an expired assignment to be manually extended that way, assuming it wasn't reassigned already. Well, maybe that wouldn't be too complicated... probably just an addition to the code to check if it was reassigned and if not, automatically request a new assignment. The thing there is, I don't know if it makes sense to extend an expired assignment itself... that exponent, for example, was requested in Dec. 2013 so it would fall under those grandfathered expiration rules. Extending it *after* it expired would drag out those grandfathered rules for it. But if it became a brand new assignment, then you'd have to update your client since it will have a new assignment ID. At least right now, if it checked in with the wrong assignment ID it wouldn't be too bad, but it's progress updates wouldn't match the assignment and it would be in danger of expiring again if it took too long to totally finish. See where I'm going there? Yeah, at least in my mind, working it out a little, it seems like a better idea to just manually request the same exponent again and paste that into your worktodo. Open to input on that, but to me that makes the most sense for now. (And fixing that page to disallow extending an expired assignment) |
I tried requesting M75801821 as a manual TF assignment but it wouldn't let me:
Error code: 40 Error text: No assignment available meeting CPU, program code and work preference requirements, cpu_id: 746063, cpu # = 0, user_id = 103281
I was able to manually reserve it as an LL assignment, and then was able to unreserve the LL assignment, but the stale TF assignment remains on my manual assignments extension page. So I just tried trial factoring M75801821 to the next level, without the fancy hash and just Factor=N/A, and it seems to have resolved everything. I guess I'll do that for the remaining 990 long expired assignments. It's only 6250 GHz-days or so. I'll get that done next week. |

Just FYI, my reservation spider was able to reserve this as a TF with no problems (I'll throw it back). Nothing special -- it's just a slaved mprime driven by a short Perl script. A non-DBI version is on this forum somewhere; PM me if you'd like a DB version. |

Catch and release fishing? I think you may have reserved it after I TF'ed it to 72 half an hour ago. It turns out I'm able to use the manual_gpu_assignment page for these 75.7M range exponents. The manual_assignment page was the one giving me the error. But I'm just going to factor the lot of them to 72 without a new assignment. Hopefully none of the work is duplicated. All these odd-ball bits of work I've been doing are making gaps in my GPU72 graphs :/ |

The manual extensions page no longer displays expired assignments |

Sweet. I'm still going to TF them all because I'm a renegade. Should be done in 9 days. |
