Exponent already tested?
Hallo,
i have now run an exponent for about 3 months and this morning i get this error: Sending expected completion date for M33445007: Apr. 20 2004 ERROR 11: Exponent already tested My computer connnect every 7 days the server. At http://www.mersenne.org/primenet/status.shtml is in cleard.txt my exponent tested from an other user. Is the system hacked? 3 months losing is hard:sad: Have a nice day Peter:sad: |
It got turned in on the 17th by dfefee.
When your machine turns it in in April, it should act like a double check and you should get credit. GP2, what happens if the line int the worktodo is change from test= to the equivalent for double check? |
dk11hi,
Complete your test and when it finishes also send a copy of results.txt to George - at woltman AT alum DOT mit DOT edu He'll make sure you get credit. |

Exponent 33445007 was assigned to user dfefee on March 20 2003. However, that user apparently let it expire (by not reporting any interim results to PrimeNet for a sufficiently long time), which caused the exponent to be reassigned to simba1999/traudel on August 28 2003. However on January 17 2004, dfefee nevertheless turned in a result.
Expiries are quite common, so after a sufficiently long time the exponents must be released and reassigned. On a few occasions, though, it turns out that the original user actually kept working on the exponent. This situation is relatively rare, but hard to prevent. A second result would still be valuable as a double-check. |

I wasn't aware that Commodore's were Prime capable. 9-) (I'm ignoring the later Amiga models, which in theory might be able to run mprime). |
Hi!
I have the same troubles:
[Sun Aug 21 15:08:52 2005 - ver 24.14] Updating computer information on the server Getting exponents from server Sending expected completion date for M24923321: Sep 05 2005 [Fri Sep 02 19:36:06 2005 - ver 24.14] Updating computer information on the server Sending expected completion date for M24923321: Sep 14 2005 ERROR 11: Exponent already tested. Keep going and provide a double (or triple) check.
what happens if the line int the worktodo is change from test= to the equivalent for double check?
Don't do that! I think it'll cause the test in progress to abort, and the L-L to be restarted, so it'll waste all the work done so far.
There's no advantage to making that change, anyway. The server doesn't need you to change anything in worktodo.ini in order to credit the result as a doublecheck if it's already been reported by someone else. |
