Would it make sense to add a new work type "do nothing"?
I find that I occassionally want to start some work manually. One way is to add a new section to worktodo (and tell prime95 that there is another worker). The problem is that I don't want that new worker to get anything new from Primenet once it completes. Another option is to add something to the top of a worktodo section, but that can cause a long delay in resuming work that was already started by that worker. |
What you want to do then is to go to Menu/Option/Preferences and set the "Days of work to queue up" to 0.

That would stall all of the workers on the machine, rather than just the new one.

Credit due for completing a TF bit range not recogized.
I believe the default for Prime95 is to stop searching a bit range once TF finds a factor.
With MFAKTC we have the option to stop or finish the range. I understand that this report now indicates via (*) if the complete range was done. https://www.mersenne.org/report_recent_cleared/ However the GhzDays credit is solely based on the size of the factor found whether the bit range was finished or not. I propose that IF the entire bit range is factored then credit be awarded for the entire bit range regardless of the size of the factor. |
