Paddle steamer the "Louisiana Star" in Hamburg (Germany):
1) How did it get to Germany, except in pieces? OOPS! (Unless, of course, it was built there.)
2) What is it burning to produce such a smoke-free stack gas?

EDIT: On #2 I am guessing the fuel is something like LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).

Yes, I didn't like the idea of crossing the Atlantic ocean in such a craft, either!
But I think it was built in Germany as a tourist attraction, with an ordinary diesel engine.

We also took the train from Hamburg to Copenhagen, which is carried across the border on a ferry.
After the last station in Germany (Puttgarden), the train drives directly on to the car deck of the ferry, and you get out and go on deck for the short water crossing.
At the other end, you get back in the train, which drives off the boat straight into the first Danish station (Rødby Færge) and then on to Copenhagen.

Don't these folks pay any attention to weather forecasts?

Today is the 25th anniversary of the Estonia ferry sinking in which 852 people died.
As with the Titanic sinking, this led to improvements in the rules for safety at sea.

Tall ship the Wylde Swan planned to end its current sail training voyage for youngsters
in the Caribbean, from where they would fly home.
But it is now having trouble with airport disruption caused by the corona virus
and so they have decided to sail back across the ocean instead.
They reckon it will take between 3 and 4 weeks.
