GPU72 out of 332M exponents?

Can seem to get any assignments in the the 332M range.

Sorry bro. I took them all yesterday. On a more serious note, low limit factoring for first time candidates is giving me 348M numbers. I don't know what double check is at, but they're probably out of that range by now.

...All?
Do you know how much that is?

He's taking the piss.

Sorry guys. I've now made available the 70M range. For those who like to masturbate, rather than doing a job well.

Do you have a clue how much work (GHz-days) that is? :davieddy: And how it compares to your throughput?
If you took 400 of them yesterday and had a reasonable throughput, there should be a couple of new factors found already (There is no evidence of this on PrimeNet, last factor in this range I reported). Also, if you plan on doing a lot of work in the range, I would suggest that you go through those that are at 72 and take them to 73, then go back and take those that are at 73 to 74, etc. Alternately, if you have substantial power, I would ask that you take exponents that are already at 76 and take them to 81, and do it in small batches.

You seem not to know that there has been a focused effort going on in the 332M range for many years now. Being inconsiderate of others is not a way to gain friends. :cmd:

:davieddy:

If this has something to do with this project you want to undertake, I might recommend trying a quieter place for your tests. Otherwise... yeah, take smaller pieces. Trial factoring to the optimal range can take a week per exponent on a good GPU.

He joked. The system won't let you eat more than you can digest. You all had the joke detector turned off.

On the other hand, he is quite serious about walking that "searching by k" path... luckily for him it seems RDS is momentarily busy :D

You read too much of Neil Stephenson. I like Cryptonomicon too, except that the guy believed that all men have nothing to do and they masturbate continuous and regularly every two days. :D

I'm aware how actively the 332 section has been pushed. Personally I've been working on a few higher 36X and 37X numbers I wanted to test. It takes me around 3 days to factor from 64 to 80 on numbers of that magnitude. Right now I just grab 100 of the LL double-check tests from 69 to 71 and run those. Takes about 45 mins per exponent, the 560 Ti gets ~ 263 GHz-days/day.

Thanks for getting the joke. Not all always appreciate my humor (particularly my girlfriend)...

But I disagree that Stephenson believed that all men have nothing better to do. In Cryptonomicon it was only Waterhouse who masturbated once every two days, but that was because he believed it helped him focus his mind.

I have to admit I tried it for a while, but I found (preferably human) partner(s) was more focusing....

So did Lawrence Waterhouse. "Manual Overrides" did not have nearly as prolonged an effect on his mental focus as copulation, even with prostitutes.
