Yesterday evening I decided to update windows since last update was done on the 30 July 2013. 199 updates and 1,945.5 MB after the PC didn't crash yet. Fantastic news since I was expecting the worst. There were two more rounds of updates but forgot to take evidence in the middle of the night.

Fiber follies

It finally got run under the grass yesterday. So I don't exactly have fiber yet, but my electric meter outside is wearing it like a scarf. So that put it at more than a year since the DSL got cut by the installers rooting around in the neighbors' back yards.

Have other worries in my life right now which are pondering me of stoping all of these distributed projects and so forth.

Not entirely sure why I'm posting this. Perhaps I'm too under the affluence of incahol and perhaps feeling unduly Magdalen[SUP]*[/SUP]. Anyway, I've just reviewed [URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKgxziZMZ6Q"]Graham Chapman's eulogy[/URL] on YouTube.

It's very close to two years since my brother's funeral. SWMBO, another brother and I each chose a piece of music for the ceremony. I can no longer remember who chose what.

Ian was a life-long keen biker, so he arrived on a motorbike hearse. The first track was Meatloaf's [I]Bat Out of Hell[/I]. Half-way through we had Led Zep's [I]Stairway to Heaven[/I]. To finish we had [I]Always Look on the Bright Side of Life[/I]. To their credit some of the congregation sang along.



(*) An Oxford in-joke, understood by the ex-Oxford minister who officiated at my mother's funeral a year later.

So I'm sitting here, coding away to Fluke's Risotto, and SWMBO comes into my man cave and asks me "Have you been searching for porn on my iPad?

Ummm... No... I never use her iPad (dislike Apple with a passion)... Why?

She was doing some Googling, and links to porn sites kept coming up on her search results. At first I thought it was some forum she had found with bad moderation, but no -- these were on the top page of Google search results!

"Wow!", I said, "Google's really having a bad day! Their filters are seriously broken...

As I was heading back to my cave she said "Maybe it's my search terms... I'm trying to figure out how to remove flowers...

I almost fell down the stairs laughing! :smile:
