Retiring ... again... warning: emoticon overload
Today I made it known at work that I am retiring again; from my second career.
This one is for real!!! :toot::banana::lavalamp::lock::chris2be8::fusion::chalsall::george::et_::joe o::maybeso::grenade::party: :ouch: :faf: :clap: :ttu: :retina: I'll be around for a few weeks training the new guy so my final date is unknown. I'm kind of hoping for July 19....even if I only work 1 hour that day. My first retirement was announced 2011-05-23; a fully prime date. yyyymmdd; yyyymm; mmdd; yyyy; mm; dd are all prime 2019-07-19 is also fully prime. In fact this one is also prime for yyyy-dd. |

Tubbs and Edward get the business.
I have been trying to buy a 2K monitor to be delivered here in La Palma. Two separate vendors on eBay each took my order and then canceled because they didn't fancy delivering to the Canaries.
This afternoon I went to a local shop for local people. They took my order, promised a delivery time shorter than the second eBay merchant, and charged me €26 less to boot! (If you don't know who Tubbs and Edward are, DuckDuckGo is your friend.) |

Now you understand my pain in the butt, hehe, ebay is a big fuss when it comes to deliveries out of their local areas. Additionally, there are a lot of people who [U]get paid[/U] to take your orders even if they do not have the products, keep your money for a while, and then return the money to you. The catch is that you do not get back all the money, but always loose a bit from the exchange rates back and forth and from the commissions, etc., (especially paypal, which is/was/is ebay own too), and even when you don't, they get interest from keeping your money in escrow. In the past, I repeatedly was hit by this, and lost money. Luckily, Mike (Xyzzy) offered to help me (not only once!) to buy hardware and other thingies, by buying them locally and sending them to me by post/forwarder, for which I am eternally grateful (it means, I will never be able to pay him back, because if I do, then I am not "eternally", anymore, hehe :razz:) |

Not really happy or unhappy. We've had a few warmer days, and I am throttled considerably on CPU and the GTX 1060. The CPU, i7 6700K, is running at 3800 MHz instead of 4200 or 4300. On the 1060, I turned down the power limit in Afterburner from 108% to 90-95% on the warmest days.
So, I'm happy summer is showing itself, and I like messing with the gear, anyway. :smile: |
