Can't think of a better thread into which to put the following than this one.
A couple of days ago I could (and did) go into the garden and see the phenomenon depicted. The video wasn't taken by me nor was it taken from my garden. Rather the view point is from a spot on the LP3 highway within a couple of kilometres from here. The clouds coming over the Cumbre often look like breaking waves but this is a particularly fine example. |
That is beautiful! I would love to have something like that in my viewfinder. Interesting that it had not closed down on the road, though it seemed very low over the cars.

Not quite that dramatic, but I have seen similar coming over the hills that are in this image.
https://www.andrewswalks.co.uk/wp-content/gallery/eggum/Eggum-12.jpg This is at Borra Eggum in Lofoten Norway. Also have seen it more local. The local hills are famous for a different reason, not the clouds. |

The clouds were likely never less than 100m above the roadway. Even if they were (and I've driven through such) it's no worse (or different for that matter) than driving through moderate fog. Clouds often cover the higher parts of the LP3.

It reminded me of driving up Klingman's dome, in the Great Smokey Mountains Nat. Park. Once we hit the upgrade, we were in solid white. This is a twisty road. I was driving slowly, with headlights and flashers on; hoping that nobody was acting crazy.:loco: |

Is that a Harry Potter reference? This dog does love well... |
The first thing the doctor told me was, "The only real cure is radical prostatectomy. Radiation should only be a follow-up is surgery doesn't succeed fully." Radiation produces scarring which makes surgery difficult. Chemo is only used to fight metastasis.
The surgery proceeds from 6(!) incisions. This doc has robotic surgery in his resume, AKA Computer Assisted, or Minimally Invasive. I hope not to be facing that prospect for quite some time, if future results look as good, or even better than this one.
Cure isn't necessary as long as it develops slowly enough that it doesn't affect you before you die. I believe that there are several treatments that can slow down the growth. |
