Made it! The default answer from a Google search says the circumference is 24,901 miles; Space.Com says it is 24,860 (pole-to-pole) or 24,874 (equator). I opted to take the picture at the higher value of the three, just to be sure.
The second lap is under way... Norm
A sincere WOW! from this neck of the woods. All the best on all future laps. That is an amazing accomplishment. :bow: |

We bought a new motorcycle August 4th.
In the 31 days we have had it, we have put 10,000 miles on it. Obviously, this is nowhere near as impressive as cycling around the world. |

Now that's impressive...it takes me about 3 years to cover what you covered in 31 days (I use less gas than you do, but probably more peanut butter sandwiches). Norm |
That pace (10,000 miles a month) is not sustainable. (Yet?)
We were just trying to do it to see if we could. At an average of 50 miles per hour, which is pretty close to our actual overall average, that works out to 200 hours, or eight days solid. It is also two oil changes and roughly 227 gallons of fuel. We had to ride several 1,000+ mile days to make up for the days we did not ride. Our current limiters are the few responsibilities we have, gas/maintenance money and physical conditioning. We currently do not spend the night anywhere, due to the high cost of lodging. We expect our financial situation will improve in the future so perhaps this will become an option. As of today, we have 638 of 3142 counties visited. |

Made the Millionaire club in GPU72.
15th overall.

There is now an "R" in the month so haggis is back in season.
May-August is the period when they build their nests, give birth and raise their young. |

New GT 1030 busy trial-factoring!
1. Replaced hardware: GT730 -> GT1030
2. Upgraded OS: Ubuntu 14.04 -> 16.04 3. Install CUDA toolkit (many failed attempts here, but just got it this morning) 4. Compiled mfaktc! The last time I installed a GPU (a little over a year ago), all of the above took the better part of three days. This time, less than 24 hours. Progress, I guess. OOTB, the GT 1030 is easily over 2 times faster than the the GT 730. Power draw numbers and tuned results to follow. |
