Have you noticed that your [STRIKE]cabin[/STRIKE] stateroom is missing from the ship photo that you posted? It is evidently newer than the rest of the ship!

I think it is there. Deck 10 is the Observation deck. Deck 11 is the Sports deck. Just below the radar (radome? Large white thing) are several white domed roofs, which I would associate with the sporting facilities such as cabanas. Just below them are nine blue rectangles. These would be the glass doors to verandahs. Ours should be the fourth one from the right end.

Yes, your stateroom is visible in the above photo, but there are also older photographs without it (and I had the impression that Atlantis was using one of those).
Here is an old photo that is perhaps a bit clearer:

By the way, on your deck they also have the following unobtrusive door:

This, of course, is the emergency diesel generator, placed high in the ship to maximize the chance that it will still function for powering critical systems even if the entire engine room were to be knocked out.
It's always fun to observe sound engineering!

Let me see if I have gotten this right. The first "detail" image is from the last image you sent. If I am interpreting correctly, the section where our stateroom would be is between the green dots. The second detail is from the photo I first posted, also with green dots. Indeed, that section does not look to be divided into rooms. It also seems that the white spherical structures are further back.

You have sharp eyes! Perhaps that section is part of the refit they are touting. My older image came from Atlantis, not HAL, so they weren't paying attention, or did not think it would be noticed.

The CO[SUP]2[/SUP] warning reminds me of the ferries I used to ride in Texas. There were similar signs at the steps to the engine room.

Health Care in Bim...

So, I'm going to share something I probably shouldn't (because it will give away a lot of personal information), and might have been better placed in the "Unhappy me" thread. But here it goes...

I'm asthmatic, and I woke up this morning at ~0030 having difficulty breathing. I discovered that my emergency inhaler was empty, and I didn't have a spare.

I tried mediating through this, in the hopes I could last until 0800 when the nearest pharmacy opens. At ~0200 I realized I wouldn't make it, and after telling Linda what I was going to do, I drove down to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. (Linda asked me repeatedly if I was OK to drive; I told her I was. To anyone who is a partner to an asthmatic... If they say they're OK, they're probably not....)

Upon arrival at the QEH I pulled into the parking lot through the exit only route, and parked. The security guard politely told me that in the future the entrance was further east. I apologized (I'm Canadian) and said "I'm having a serious asthma attack!

Said security guard then immediately lead me into the emergency area. I was then immediately surrounded by two doctors, a nurse and an aid, who gave me pure oxygen, an IV drip, and a nebulizer, and put me on a gurney.

This was all before they even knew my name, or that I am Barbadian. (I'm white, and have a Canadian / British accent.) They initially assumed I was visiting from away. It didn't matter; my life was more important than who would pay for the treatment.

TL;DR: If you're going to have a medical emergency, within a "socialist" single payer system isn't a bad place to have it in. 5.5 hours later I was released from the hospital (after they were absolutely certain my blood-oxygen levels were good) with discounted prescriptions to help manage my asthma.

Total cost for the excellent care? $0 (BDS).

Glad to hear you are ok now.

Yeah. Thanks. "When a man knows he is to be hanged...it concentrates his mind wonderfully.

I got back from the hospital just in time to drink two pots of strong coffee, watch the SpaceX Dragon being captured by the Canadarm and berthed to the ISS, do some SQL, Perl and HTML coding, and then drink some more coffee.

I suspect I will sleep well tonight....

I have been having some problems with ECC DIMMS bought from Ebay. 2 of the 16 sticks started to show uncorrectable ECC errors. To cut a long story short, I cleaned the gold contacts with a pencil eraser and now all is honky dory.

[QUOTE=petrw1;458360]Congrats

Less than 1,000 more gets you around the entire planet.[/QUOTE]

Made it! The default answer from a Google search says the circumference is 24,901 miles; Space.Com says it is 24,860 (pole-to-pole) or 24,874 (equator). I opted to take the picture at the higher value of the three, just to be sure.

The second lap is under way...
