Only about 6 miles one way, but it's enough to wake me up in the morning, and get the blood flowing. I take a route that is mostly residential streets and on a pedestrian/bicycle pathway, in order to minimize my exposure to traffic. Some days, I take a round-about path to get more miles- the last few years, I'm averaging about 3,000 miles a year. Sure hope its keeping me healthy, and not wearing me out sooner.
I've been a casual runner for just over 3 years and just surpassed 1,000 miles (1,600 Kms).
Interestingly that is almost exactly the distance from my home to the town of Marathon Ontario (though I have never run a Marathon....just a half). By "casual" I mean I average less than two runs a week and about 25 miles a month.
really very awesome |
I´m working for TOTAL refinery near Leuna, Sachsen-Anhalt.
Today, about 11:20 am, an fire inside of the distillation column started. About 20 People are harmed. Possibly ferrous sulfide self-ignited. Here is an link to an german newspaper site, those pictures could be interesting for you. Why is this "Happy Me"? Because I´m working in the POX-MeOH sector which is 100 meter away from the main production site (where the fire took place). So, I´m fine. |
Duck and Cover! (again)

Mama mallard, or someone very like her, returned to the roof deck shrubbery at Center on Halsted, and hatched a large brood of ducklings. They were spotted on 2017/05/09 on their emergence, and the Chicago Bird Collision group was called. This year, mama and babies were all captured on the deck and transported to a safe release site, with no casualties.
The photo does not show much. I was out of town at the time and missed all the fun. |
Back in Brno again for first time in several years. Meeting up with old colleagues and drinking partners, catching up on gossip and drinking beer.

100,000 ECM Curves for exponents under 20K
My goal for 2017 is to do 1000 curves for each in-factored exponent under 20,000.
I am hoping to factor 3 of them. I started with 164 exponents. So far I have factored completed 100,919 curves. For 20 of the exponents I have completed my planned 1000 curves. And I have factored 1. (11,027) Just over 60,000 curves to go. Still hoping for another factor or 2. |

We kicked out the 2^2*(3)*7 from 73512 into a 2^5*7^2 with no 3, after a lot of fighting with it. Still going on...

We are too fat to ride our road bike, and the roads here are in terrible condition, so we picked up a new bike with wider tires.

:mike:
Very nice- I have the same brand of bike, and have been very happy with it. The dealer also made a necessary warranty repair with no questions asked. I also really like the background in the photo; very pleasing color and texture. Norm |
