https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pied_Piper_of_Hamelin
 On the more difficult side, I have to clear our stored stuff out of the basement for thorough extermination. I think I have to rent some space to deal with things I don't want to trash. |
And now for something completely different

If my grasp of the term is correct, I just passed a peta-hertz day for LLTF on GPU72.

Yay! The basement issue is 3/4 resolved! I arranged a storage space, and discovered that they have a truck they let renters use. We have the bulk of stuff loaded. After I catch my breath, we'll go stash it away. We also have a few days leeway on the clean-out-and-exterminate business.
EDIT: It looked to much more stuff than really turned out. |
The feral teenager that lives with us (jvang) informed us today that he has improved his ACT composite score from 32 to 34. Unfortunately, his lowest score on the test (30) was math.
He is currently in the process of applying to a special school for his junior and senior year of high school. If accepted, we will have to rename him to the feral teenager who doesn't live with us. http://www.asmsa.org/
We just found out that he was accepted. :toot: |

:toot:
Well done, jvang! |
After nearly 3 years on the market, we finally sold our house!

I will be vissiting New York and Boston (Freedom Trail, MIT and Harvard) between April 29th and May 7th. This will be my 8th visit to NY...

I just finished the DC of 39957347 with a match. This is one of the oldest first testsI have seen in a while. It makes me wonder what hardware Dennis Moran was running, and how long it took to complete. (I don't remember right off what system I had in 2007, though certainly it would be AMD and likely single core.) It took my current system about 25 hours, running one worker window with all four cores. It would be a real commitment taking that on with that era's CPUs, and a real accomplishment in system stability terms.
There is a sense of connection through running LL on the same exponent almost ten years apart, and getting the same result, that makes me happy. Verified 2007-10-29 Dennis Moran E42BD92AD22BF139 Verified 2017-04-23 ktony E42BD92AD22BF139 |

All older exponents and all undated exponents have already been double-checked by now. So in that sense, [M]39957347[/M] wasn't an outlier for 2007, rather it would have been a typical first-time test of that era. |
