Today is the last day for a while my age will be a prime number - until 5 years and 1 day from now, to be exact. But the ages in between are still interesting in their own way, including a 3-smooth number, a square, and a cube.
For bonus points*, how old am I? *The points don't matter. |

http://pastebin.com/XJ3iEnPW
I had no idea if they would specify a particular pair of numbers, really. You did some good work!
In the second pair of primes, 61 and 67, the 3-smooth number, square, and cube are all the same number: 64 = 2^6
Here are two ways you might resolve the ambiguity: 1. (side attack)
My user name had a literal truth to it when I created this account some years ago.
2. (mathematical)
There is a single semiprime between the two primes in question.
|
So, my youngest kitten, Phobos.....
That is really encouraging. The the double-barrel medication sounds like a very effective approach. Very best wishes to and for Phobos. Calmness Serenity Peace to you. |
:paul:

You'll be 64. A cube squared is n^6. Since you're neither a baby (1^6=1) nor Methuselah (3^6=729), you must be turning 2^6=64.
|

I know it was pretty obvious, but it is still kind of a cool number. Then there's the Beatles connection..... |
Also, your explanation makes me smile.
I guess I could as well have said, "a square[SUP]3[/SUP]" |
Today is Valentine's Day
If you haven't yet got your lover at least a card, you might want to get on that task pronto.

Got a GTX 580 back on line
This is my favorite MSI card. I had hoped that it had not given up the ghost.
Bizarre setup requirement: I have come to believe that heavy graphics cards can have a problem staying centered in the PCIe slot, when the motherboard is in the vertical position, as most are these days. I only got this card working again when I attached a support line (heavy shoe string) to the front-of-the-case end to keep it from sagging. This loops through a corner of a radiator fan. Yes. I know this is weird. :cmd: It does work, however. This card is running TF. I have been seriously looking at GTX 1060s to fill this role: Half the power, and considerably more throughput than the 580. More weirdness: -d 0 and -d 1 are reversed for some reason. I have a 460 in the top PCIe slot, and the 580 in the second. However, the 460 starts from -d 1, and the 580 from -d 0. :confused2: |
Today is also the computation day (some communities celebrate it for a few years now, but some on the next day).
