But it was the other way round : we started with mass and can compare it only with mass.

Yeah... The imperial system is so much better than the SI system. I call bullshit. The only reason that the imperial system has survived is that humans can divide by 2, 3 and 4 quickly if trained. Dividing by 10 is easy. |
