New book - de pracht van priemgetallen
 

For those of you who master the Dutch language, a new book has appeared on the market titled 'De pracht van priemgetallen' (The beauty of prime numbers).

The book has over 190 pages; ISBN 978-90-351-3863-6 and is published by [URL="http://www.prometheusbertbakker.nl"]prometheus-bertbakker[/URL].

Mersenne primes and GIMPS are very extensively covered in the book. Many prominent chapters are devoted to Mersenne primes.

I guess we must buy the book to find out what Ionica Smeets is talking about when she writes that the authors describe number theory as a dangerous rabid dog and compares the number 1 with the dwarf planet Pluto.:confused:

I found a bunch of roots under mine. Let us hope at least one is primitive.
