The forum seems very quiet today. Where is everybody? Is something wrong?

GIMPS is officially over. After a 4-hour transatlantic Skype session, fraught with spammy YouTube links and nebulous arguments framed in bold, oddly-colored fonts, George finally agreed with David that not only TFing to 74, but indeed, that looking for Mersenne primes at all, was a complete waste of time and energy that would be better spent on analyzing the patterns of gum embedded in the heels of random Londoners' shoes.

Yeah, so, it's been a fun almost-eighteen years. But now is the time to move on to bigger and better things.
