However, while generating it, I noticed that NOOE did some re-check after several months and he found 8 misses in his results. This might mean that he tried to correct the problem (as I said before NOOE is a prominent contributor with outstanding record). Summing all factor misses in ~260 expos, there was an error rate of ~4%, which point to an issue with these results though.

If someone is taking these, it might be wise to do a quarter or a third and if there is no misses, to abort the job. It would be nice to be sure if these are correctly reported, however I do not want to waste resources. Meanwhile, I will continue with ECM on several of the NOOE expos from the same batch in the beginning of the range with a hope to clear them with a factor.

There is approximately 20152 GHz-days of work in that list.

I'll start by trial factoring all the exponents to 67, which is 40% of the assignments, representing 1950 GHz. I have some other work I want to get done first, but I should have results by Monday morning.

Considering it is in such a low range (long since LL/DC) there is less value in rechecking this.

So I did the first hundred assignments or so and no factors yet. I had some GPU72 work to catch up on and I've had this on the back burner, but I just got another GTX 580 that I'll leave committed to the remainder -> 67 work, which I should have finished by Friday.

Thank you for your time! It seems that the problem is not that serious anymore. Indeed, it is pointless to continue to TF the list. As I said I am running ECM on these numbers, so if I see more misses I will report that. At the worst case I will clear some of them with a factor and the rest will have first ECM level done. Of course that is not one week-project, so it will take some time.

It appears that TJAOI just finished finding 57-bit prime factors of Mersenne numbers and now he started to submit 58-bit prime factors.

That's a lot of factors.

Are they for previously unfactored exponents that somehow got missed (at bit levels 57 and 58?) or are they additional factors? I don't know if that's what TJAOI likes to do, is carry on TF work even when factors are already known.

Kind of cool though, I think.

He submits factors for all Mersenne numbers. It does not matter if they have factors known or not. It is interesting to notice that he was able to "probably complete" the factorization for several Mersenne numbers because I found that the cofactors are probable primes in those cases.
