If you ever wanted to hear what a broken record sounds like...

Here's a real crappy exponent to get you started.

Why am I offered a 65M exponent when anyone would much prefer a 62M one?
I note that there are over 5000 such exponents, all of which are TFed to 73.
I would prefer it to have had P-1, since I have limited memory, but will do this if necessary.

Perplexed

Did you consider setting your assignment type to P-1 before getting assignments, then?

No. My preference is for first-time LL testing of the lowest available exponent.

To repeat, I would be prepared to do P-1 on the exponent if necessary, but don't wish to make a habit of it due to limited memory.

Since TF to 74 bits cannot keep pace with demand, focus on ensuring that they are TFed to 73, then release them for LL until further notice.

The language and drift of this post make me think of someone.....
Who the heck could it be? For a newcomer this person seems to understand the system pretty well, leaving aside the mismatch between limited memory and P-1.
Hmmmm.....

You should not do P-1 with limited memory. Prime95 should have at least 1,000MB and preferably more to do P-1.

LL is in the 65M range if you asked for on late in the day GMT time.
New lower assignments are recycled just after 00:00 GMT.
And then you might get some in the mid 50'sM.

Or consider joining the subproject at www.gpu72.com which has access to assignments at the lower end.

And welcome to GIMPS

Looks like I can't read accurately when I'm sleepy. I read "would prefer to have had P-1" rather than "would prefer it to have had P-1".

It looks like my post is void now though, anyway xD
