REAL review and benchmarks for the Geforce GTX 780!

Note that the GTX 780 has double-precision performance crippled, unlike the Titan.

So, 580/590 is still king?

Yes, at least for me...

780

The Titan has 1/3 in FP32 performance while 680 and 780 has 1/24.
The 580 has 1/8, but only 512 cuda cores. Titan and 780 has 2688 and 2304 cudacores.

The king is still the Titan.

But with 780 introduced to gamers, 580 might be sold in the aftermarket very cheap, so it should be possible to get several 580s cheap, but these sellers want as much as they can get for them so they can purchase 780 now.

Next step for Nvidia is probably a 790 with 2x GK110 chips on same board. but spec is still going to be the same with 1/24 FP32 performance per Kepler chip.

Whether Nvidia will create Titan dual or something is hard to say, but I think the layout of 780 and Titan on the board itself is different. On the other hand, IF the layout is the same, we can end up with a titan dual together with 790..

790 will probably be announced august/september.

During fall they will also probably announce Maxwell for Tesla. and next year Maxwell for consumers in april/may with a 880 board.

Remember that Nvidia is working on Maswell to get direct memory access from hosts machine memory. This with the possibility to launch new kernels from one running kernel which the Titan, 780 and Tesla k20+k20x can do is going to revolutionize computing on GPUs.

Thanks for the link! VERY comprehensive testing, they included for the first time AutoCAD and SolidWorks (2D and 3D) blending of tests, a lot of gaming, OpenCL performance (very rare included in testing as a separate topic for cuda cards!), etc. Good to see and read "da capo al fine". I won't comment on the performance of the card tho. Maybe there's a reason why it is "lower priced", it seems to me more like a marketing move, to sell 6xx cheap cards (and GK104 chips, generally) about which the people were not so enthusiast to buy.

Anandtech has taken to including GPGPU numbers in some test reports, though perhaps not as exhaustive as to application performance.

EDIT: I am delighted that Tom's included a 580 in some of those tests. I'm sure that it would not have looked as good in the power consumption charts had it been included, though it would have been interesting to see them. It makes me feel very good at the prospect of getting a 570 back online.

Geforce 770=Essentially a OC'ed 680.

Same GK104.

and finallyt, the 760

Nvidia GTX 760: Niiice

A GTX 670 for about two thirds of the cost. Gotta love that. Nvidia is in a dominant position over AMD at the current moment. It will be interested to watch the AMD vs Intel and AMD vs Nvidia battles because AMD is currently in the recessive position of both fights, but Intel is taking the "Our chips are plain better than yours, so because none of yours can compete with our best, we'll charge whatever we want" but Nvidia is taking the "Our cards are better than yours so we're going to make slight processing improvements but we're going to crush you in a power-per-dollar fight".

I got a GTX 670 for my new computer, and I had planned to upgrade to an SLI setup after three years or so. If the GTX 900 series is looking as good as the GTX 700 series, I might have my cards picked out already.

AMD vs Intel Intel of course. AMD vs Nvidia, close, considering the 700 series are just rebranded 600 and titan. Depends on what you mean is "better" compute or gaming?

EDIT: Well, gotta love the price though! I found this.
