Treading LL P-1 for 100M TF

I dunno, if he's got a bunch of cpus there why waste them? I wonder myself if p-1 work wouldn't help more but hell on it, it doesn't hurt.
No, what I mean is they probably would be better off doing other work unless you really like tf'ing on your cpu's...

for example,
The borged boxes are free labor. Like I said I don't dare do LL on them. I used to have some run DC's, but those have been replaced. I have had various borgs get wiped at times. One that I don't have access to anymore is turning in LMH-TF's all the time.
I dunno, if he's got a bunch of cpus there why waste them? I wonder myself if p-1 work wouldn't help more but hell on it, it doesn't hurt.
The newest one, I tried a couple of P-1's on (in the 100M digit range), on one core of four. Didn't care for it. That one I am using to do the 74->76 runs. The other machines, I had running various levels, until all of the earliest exponents were at 73. Now most all of the cores are running 73->74.
A lot of the earliest people in on the 100M digit range did not do enough TF on their exponents. I have been working in this range for years, before P95 was set to do exponents in that range.

BTW, I welcome anyone with a GPU to help out, especially taking exponents right up to 79 or 80.

I'm just going to toss this out there because it popped into my head, but although it is a serious offer I don't actually expect you to take me up on it, Uncwilly.

I run all my processing power in the LL range because I think that's where we are closest to falling behind - I could be wrong, but last I checked we were about 11 months ahead on DC and, mostly because of your coordination, we were well ahead in the LMH range too. But still, we always need more p-1 action in the LL range, so I'd be willing to trade up some ghz days if you like. Specifically, for every ghz day you can p-1 some candidates in the current ll range, I'll dedicate 10 ghzdays of gpu power to taking whatever number you want to whatever bitdepth you want.

I do care about the LMH range same as every other range, I just try to go where I'm needed most and I know laurv works in the LMH range sometimes and can probably singlehandedly factor more of those to 78 in a day than get passed out.

Starting today, I will pick up some P-1's from GPUto72. I will start some of my slaves on these. To date, I have no P-1's in that range completed.
Once I have turned in a few, I will let you know here. Just take the next available exponent from GPUto72, in the 332M range, up to 79.

Ok, Great. I pulled one from GPU72.

Please be sure to have enough RAM available to do a worthwhile P-1 job.

I will also take on one assignment to 79. One GHz year -- two days on my puny little 560.

(As an aside, this exercise demonstrated that I had made a really stupid mistake on the assignment form for 100M digit assignments. Thank for letting me know Bill.)

Aramis Wyler 2013-04-02 14:44

There were no factors to 79.

Uncwilly now owes you 36.267 days of P-1 work!
Uncwilly now owes you 36.267 days of P-1 work!
I have gotten 4 P-1 assignments from GPUto72, 2 will complete shortly, the other 2 are in queue right behind them. 2 cores total running P-1 (1 per machine). I will likely add 1 or 2 more cores tomorrow. I will also take more assignments.

Cool.

So you know, my exponent (332,309,699) turned out to have a 76.92 bit factor, so you only owe me 86.35 days of P-1'ing...

Chuck 2013-04-03 00:29

I'm working on a 332.3M to 79; do you need to know what it is when I finish?
