Batch 3 #6 arrived. I was so happy to know it was coming that I spent the last week learning how to say "Thank you very much kind Yak" in Yakese, but I must have mispronounced it as he butted in the front door and left a Yak surprise on the floor.
Oh well. It has been described as "irritable." Perhaps it got up on the wrong side of its yak bed.

Hi,

I have received a nice present today, a good surprise because I didn't noticed my name on the list for batch #1. Thank you Mike! :tu:
Accordings to the stickers on the letter the journey took 32 days from USA to Germany.

Final batch #3 has arrived! Postmarked May 13th, arrived sometime on or before the 17th (we only visit the post office on Fridays). There was also the lovely surprise of another green 10th anniversary button...which I can only assume is a base-11 celebration of next month's milestone...:geek:

I was thinking how amazing it has been for a school the size of UCM to end up getting this kind of worldwide exposure. If not for GIMPS, probably none of us would even give the school a second thought. So the lesson for the day is to get your school/university/company the worldwide recognition it didn't even know that it deserved, by borging all of your entity's computers for GIMPS!

I do have to share what a friend of mine said when I showed him the button (no offense to UCM or Curtis Cooper, though I hope this gives them a laugh). He saw the mule on the button, and suggested a motto for Curtis Cooper: "UCM/GIMPS. We find the big-ass primes."

I proudly installed the beasts onto my work monitor and they have started nibbling.
My colleagues seem to be in awe of this new display of nerdness. Or they avoid me even more now, I'm not sure yet.

Many thanks // hartelijk bedankt!
