Hey, George, I'll bet you never contemplated using Tcl or Python to implement your LL software, you dinosaur. No wonder it took so long to find the latest M-prime! Sheesh...
Nobody uses one-layered software anymore, Ernst! You are behind times. Definitely Ruby-on-rails. That's it. Must be Ruby on rails. Everybody wears this now. |

That's SO yesterhour. |

MM127
MMMMM...p is always a prime number ?
No, I don't think so. My guess is that MM127 has about 80 factors, but since its such a large number even the smallest one is very hard to find and require so much work. If I continue searching for another half year, with the speed I have now, I have about 1% chance of finding the smallest one as prime95 said. For 4 MMp:s factors have already been found, that is for MM13, MM17, MM19, MM31, but maybe you meant that "MMMMM...p for p=2 is always a prime number?", but as I said I believe MM127 has many factors. |
and I'm rooting for you hard. You've got about a 1% chance of finding a factor with a lot more effort.
I didn't reply to this George because I was unsure of the meaning of "I'm rooting for you hard". Sometimes english is a little difficult for me, but if it means what I think it means, that is, that you have put a lot of work into programming mmff which I am using in the search, I want to say that I am very grateful for this!!! ... and who knows maybe we are lucky and find a factor! |
I was unsure of the meaning of "I'm rooting for you hard".
It means I sincerely hope you find a factor! |
It means I sincerely hope you find a factor!
OK, I see, thanks!!! |

... and who knows maybe we are lucky and find a factor!
You're wise to be cautious. "Rooting" in Australian English has a colloquial meaning. Roughly speaking, that meaning is equivalent to "having sex with an animal". |

Now I need to learn the etymology of "rooting"... Does it come from root --> caring form the root --> ? Luigi |

And in Unix geek-speak, "rooting" means to take super-user control (of a system).... |

A complete tangent, but anyone who enjoys words would find the book "The Professor and the Madman" (sub-title "A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of OED") by Esther Lombardi very worth the time. |
