Amusingly, this exponent passed through two ANONYMOUS assignments before finally being picked up by Curtis on 2012-12-12 -- one assignment on 2012-08-14 which then expired 60 days later, then another on 2012-10-13 which expired 60 days later.

Neither had done a single cycle on it. Or, at least, not reported.
Tsk. Accidental assignments to inattentive Stress Testers? (i.e. those who don't pay attention to the choices on the first run of P95.)

Does Curtis use a formula? Maybe smooth p-1 and chunky p+1?

Well done everybody! Congratulations to discoverer, developers, helpers, etc.

Drink that champagne and let's move on to the next!

The 43M bits prime (**) it showed up suddenly as the 10M+ prime number, if i remember well.

Undoubtfully Curtis would've tested that one had not someone else taken it.

So for payout of the money, i didn't check conditions carefully, is it allowed to keep secret a trick?

edit: it is not beyond reasonable doubt now that pay out - i would ask for my money back
(**) edit2 : whatever the trick is

That's James', not mine.

And, before anyone points out that the prime also isn't listed on Mersenne.info, that will update at about 0700 UTC tomorrow.
