Three dozen

It's 12-12-12 today.

LaurV 2012-12-12 07:56

No big deal. 13-13-13 would be much worse-worse-worse, especially if it falls on a Friday-Friday-Friday...

(edit: for the record, the thread title is "three dozen", let's see how long it lasts, I have few shameful ideas how to change it, but fortunately no rights... :P)

(edit2: grrr, the edit destroys all the joke... anyhow, to wash my hands: 1212121 is prime...)

Dubslow 2012-12-12 08:02

Don't you mean a quarter-gross?

Okay, so everyone missed the 12-12-12 12:12:12 UTC post. :surprised

Nice! Congrats! If the world ends on 21, it may be because of you...

(I still see it "12-12-13 00:12", hehe, I am 12 hours faster then you. And it did not occur to me 12 hours ago that I could try for my local time).

For those that have access to "live" data that is timestamped what is the closest to 6 12s you can find? Just display the timestamp. I trust you!

Extra points if the 12s extend into fractions of a second

The closest I found so far was: 12/12/12 12:12:12.655112 (ends in 12)
Or. .372328. Only .24 seconds out

I was sleeping, nice and quiet.

I was sleeping at 2012/12/12 0012 & 12s local time. I observed 2012/12/12 1212 & 12s local time on my digital watch.

I sat down for lunch with several friends at precisely that (local) time ... we called it the "baker's dozen lunch event".

Lock him up and throw away the key until the YEAR is 121212. And for good measure, fix his wife so she can't breed any more. She obviously lacks the evolutionary instinct to select a breeding partner that will ensure the healthy replication of her kind. Jeez.

At the very least, one can hope that a sacred ceremony might be conducted for him at the jail house, it being Texas and all. I'd say 12 strapping guards take turns wearing out size 12 boots on his backside for 12 hours. Then send him down the hall to Bubba(TM) for 12 years of "marital bliss".

That would be time to get a new calendar. Or, it would be 13-13-13 = 12-44-13 = 1-13-14. It's a Monday. Whew.

I think we are too much deformed by the modular calculus, hehe. It was just a pun on the fact that there is no 13th month, trying to stress the futility of all this discussion - you can find nice "curiosities" and "coincidences" in any number if you look enough.

Related to the former post, put that guy in a box and send him to me. I know what to do with him. I don't think the wife has so much guilt, maybe just a little, for staying with him so long, but you can't know what "motivated" her until you are not there and see. They wrote she was calling the police from a neighbor house, which looks much in her favor.

Maybe the Mayan calendar endoftheworld prediction really was
intended for 12-12-12 (not 12-21-12) since that date is
also exactly twice the jinxed number 6-6-6. Oh, I just noticed
the world didn't end yesterday. Big sigh of relief. Now for
the next nine days hiding under my desk.
