As Chappy pointed out, Ninja's provocative nonsense was an obvious troll.

I question why a person who doesn't believe in a 'god' because he/she has
never seen a proof of non-existence would still (even given the absence
of any evidence for existence, hence no reason to believe) be ready to
believe in the POSSIBILITY of existence.

The statement: 'It's possible there is a 'god' because its impossibility
can not be proven' assumes (a) no such proof will ever be crafted,
and (b) that the concept of a 'god' isn't inherently contradictory,
which would make 'god' impossible.

Just because Pascal wanted to hedge his bet, hence choosing to
believe rather than reject the concept of a 'god' doesn't necessarily
mean he was right -- people do lose bets.

There's something in the following post I don't understand.
Yeah... Christianity:
The belief that there was nothing, and from this nothing, magically, a God appeared for no reason, who magically created everything, and magically arranged everything into self-replicating bits, which then got out of control, eating forbidden fruits... whatever...

Long live Doodle God... THIS is the real history, you (all) have no idea about. You should all play it... Playing God is fun

It is MUCH funnier then building bridges, assuming you don't skip the intros and READ ALL the quotes... Anyhow, playing God is wonderful...

Then tell us if after that, how much of you are still Christian... (or Atheist, hehe).

(Don't tell me how idiotic some of the "constructions" are, isn't all the life/religion/whatever/ like that? You can freely use the hints, which are available every 3 minutes or so).
Without playing any games, what's the "hehe" about?

Agnosticism ain't right.

Phew! You scared me here. I was really afraid about what part you do not understand...

Sorry! I phrased that post wrong.

I meant: without my playing the game you posted about ...(etc.).

I just wondered why not ANYONE's beliefs might be challenged
by the game, not just christians and atheists.

Oh, I understand now. That post was kind of joke, and I am sorry if you did not take it so. I used Christians and Atheists because, as everybody here knows, I am an Atheist coming from a Christian family, so that is what I know about. I am not a snob in religions, I was well educated in christianity since I was child (due to my family, till I begun to understand that the life is different, or you can say that the dark side of the force sucked me in ), and I still like to read the bible, even can reproduce passages from it, as I usually have a good memory, and the bible is a good book when it come to life experience and wisdom, but to take it literally would be absurd. That book is a good fairy tale, that's all. When I look around me and see good people dieing from cancers and criminals and thieves doing well in Romanian parliament, I can only believe that god, if it exists, is either completely idiot or is laughing at us.

(that Davieddy really is contagious with his youtube links! Listen this to the end, and if you don't like it or don't have enough patience, at least google for the lyrics. [edit: I see now that the video has the lyrics in comment, if you enable comments])

My biggest wish is that all this bullshit about god, heaven and hell, eternal life, etc, be true.
I know I will end up in hell, boiling slowly in a big (I hope individual) tar pot, for my beliefs, but I would be extraordinary happy to see rows and rows of pots around me, filled with some people I know (from real life, tv, etc)... I would have that feeling that the justice was done properly, for those now untouchable.

The Doodle God is fun to play, but I don't think it will challenge too much the beliefs of the player. It will help you improve your knowledge, by those citations, some of them are fun, some are really deep. But that is all. You won't believe that you can make snakes mixing sand with worms, or with lizards, would you? On the other hand, it is pretty clear that alcohol plus water makes vodka, sex plus human is fun (even if I believe you need two humans for this!), or vodka plus guns give Russian roulette. And no question about the fact that human plus dinosaur results in dinosaur plus blood... How does this change my beliefs, or IF it does, I let you guess...

Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck! Good one, Chappy.

davar55 2013-02-19 21:19

I take it the lack of recent activity in this thread is due to
three factors: the believers believe, the non-believers unbelieve,
and the inbetweeners are satisfied that the others are wrong.

I guess I like oversimplifying.
