Will do. I spread them out amongst different machines and will have them done shortly.

3 below are noted as Almost Done .... you are welcome to the rest.
Or I can do 1 more after each Almost Done in one more week.

Sure, I went ahead and grabbed those 14 that you haven't started on. Like wombatman's work, I distributed them to a bunch of machines and should have them done shortly.

They all went well. For fun, here's the latest list. :smile: That 58M one is about to be finished up by the original assignee (since the DC got poached)... And there was a new 35M one that showed up today... The 73M/74M exponents will finish up today/tomorrow, and the 383M will be done in 10 more days.
---- start DC requested by petrw1
DoubleCheck=28396163,71,1

DoubleCheck=35460287,71,1

I've picked out some actual assignments for myself. Right now I'm doing necessary triple-checks of all exponents where Curtis' systems did the first and second tests without a match. Something like 100 of them.

The next thing I'm tackling are exponents between 34M and 35M where they've been double-checked but didn't match. There's around 350 of those and I've only just started, so I have maybe 20-30 of them assigned for now.

So in a sense I guess I'm still doing triple checks, but they're ones that need to be done. :smile: And that way I can actually get assignments for them.

Thanks for helping!

Thanks to everyone who helped out. Mark Rose, wombatman, petrw1, manfred4, LaurV, etc. (I know I'm forgetting some...)

There's still one more to go, due in 9 more days:
M383838383

I'll be doing new queries every now and then to keep on top of additional self-verified work and try to keep up with them the best I can.

Summary:
Including the additional work I did with v4/v5 stuff, nearly 3000 self-verified results were triple-checked.

In the end, just one of them was found to be wrong by the original tester, and considering that I'd hoped *none* would be found, I consider the whole thing to be a worthwhile venture. It shows that we really should encourage independent double-checking whenever possible.

OCD is considered a negative to some.

Not so much so for others....

Then I'm insulted!
Not so much so for others....
And I'm also flattered. :smile:

Oh crumb... a new self-verified check

A new self-verified result today, and whoops, it's mine:
http://www.mersenne.org/M36235723

I was doing double-checks of some of AhmerAli's work a month or so back and my first result mismatched his. Now that I was all done with triple-checks I was clearing out more of his that I thought might be bad, and whoops, did that one again.

I have to be careful in my future queries and only get assignments I haven't already done, following my own advice.

If anyone felt like doing a triple-check on that, that'd be great. The worktodo line would be:
DoubleCheck=36235723,71,1

I'll take it.

There is no doubt that PrimeNet was not checking assignments against self verifying in those days : not only the same user, but even the same machine (it was a different core.)
