OK now I know the proxy REALLY works

Now I am sure that it works — I just finished enough P-1 work so that the GPU72 proxy fetched work for the first time. Up to now it had just been reporting completed results.

It has certainly worked for me on the P95 P-1 front. As mentioned before, I set up a "single-purpose" P95 to snag LL/DC assignments because I'm not running those on the CPU. This, too, has worked well in acquiring assignments.

It is a common Russian expression. Доверяй, но проверяй. (Do-vyer-yai, no pro-vyer-yai.)

Never heard this one (in Moscow). But there's tons of proverbs, many of them regional.
«Пока толстый сохнет, худой сдохнет» would be similar.

I can't cite sources. It's just one of those things one remembers.

How does «Пока толстый сохнет, худой сдохнет» translate....or transliterate?

Me too. Although my CPU output is very, very low, one of my computers finished and retrieved another P-1.
