(archive)mfaktXHelper - utility for managing mfaktX installations
Since working with mfakto I've written a simple utility to help me manage the work... I don't really have a good name for it yet so it is just mfaktapp.
mfaktapp assists in adding work, reporting results and monitoring progress of mfaktc or mfakto GPU programs. The "balance work" feature is very useful when running multiple instances of a mfaktX program. It does not provide automated method of getting or reporting work. {Possible future version.} It is a GUI program using classic windows forms. --requirements 1. .NET 4.0 installed. 2. So far only tested on Windows 7 64bit 3. No installer required. Just unzip, configure config.txt and run the .exe see readme and download at https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=3FE1E470858C907B!215 |

Interesting. Any chance we might be able to get the source code for this? Many here are hesitant to run closed-source software from people we've never "met" before.... |
The man above me has written a results submission spider, and automatic built-in mfaktc communication with PrimeNet is supposed to be in development (though I haven't seen the developer here in a long time).
PS Many of us use Linux, including both of the top two here (though the next two do use Windows). |
Although new to this forum find swl551 on the GIMPS top producers and you'll see my commitment. I'll improve my sourcecode comments and publish it on my site later today.

Source code now posted.

Thanks! However, it does not seem to work when worktodo.txt is not in the same directory.

Configure mfaktapp's config.txt "lookin:" to point to where your worktodo.txt and results.txt are stored. Those are the only files it interacts with. |

I know. However, my mfakto*.exe and worktodo.txt and results.txt are in a diffrent directory. |
Kracker: Can you state what the paths are to each file and I'll further determine how I can assist you.
thx |
