Sadly, FactorDB lost it's cache for aliquot sequences and now each sequence recalculates from scratch and it takes substantial server resources (f.e. 634,721 queries (1,831.36 seconds) for 785232 and 730,972 queries (2,096.81 seconds) for 933436). Server load ATM is above 40.

That may explain why it's been saying
1040: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1040] Too many connections
for short intervals several times today.

Does it cache a sequence once it's recalculated it?

Chris

Yes.

I haven't been able to log in. Is anyone else having this problem?

I've only had minor issues with the db. All my completed Primo certificates have made it in successfully (knocking on wood).

The big "however" though, is that my rPi that handles all my Primo assignments has crashed. The Primo machines are all finishing their current assignment and then laying dormant awaiting the next candidate. It's the OS, not the h/w. I tried the card in a second rPi with identical results. The logs point to a media issue.

But, I'll have to migrate the controlling programs to another machine tomorrow. Not only was the rPi assigning Primo candidates, but it was aslo tracking composite factoring to cut down on duplication within my own farm.

Can you please share this script or give me a link to it?

Not sure if you're looking for the specific program referenced only, or "a" program, but I'm using a script that was written by yoyo and is available here:

My version is modified quite extensively, but the original runs fine.

Is resource usage tracking broken? http://factordb.com/res.php keeps showing me zeros and "starting" on refresh.

At least from Friday 12/07 the FactorDB page does not respond anything. From the other hand some activity has place, i.e. there .

Must be a problem with your ISP. I have been able to access the database in the past few days.

No problems here.

EDIT:- What do you get when you [c]ping factordb.com[/c]?
