Small composite numbers are building up. I've managed to keep ones below 75 digits under control, but above that they are arriving faster than I can factor them. Is anyone else working on them? All help gratefully received (but ignore any that are already prime or smaller than the range you asked for).
And does anyone know where they are coming from? Some look as if they could be OddPerfect related, but not all of them. Chris |

Oops. I got a file of known factors of OPNs. I was posting them in pieces. I didn't realize they weren't complete factorizations. I'll get a worker going to help with the backlog. |
I can retask some of my primo machines for a bit, if that would help. If I run random composites running 80 dd and up, would that work out without treading on anyone else's efforts too heavily?
Edit: Since I'll be heading to bed soon, I went ahead and redirected a machine to the above work. If it's interfering with anyone, sorry - let me know and I'll kill it in the morning. |

Could you move the lower limit down to 76 digits? I've managed to clear up to 75 digits, but that's about as far as I can go on the system I'm using to do that.
I'm also working on random larger numbers by SNFS (if possible) or QS/GNFS (if SNFS isn't possible). But that's where I was losing the race to factor numbers faster than they were being added. Chris |
I've been monitoring the use here and staying above everyone's range. When my range gets to several hundred remaining, I move up. I'm now at C90.
They still seem to be coming in perhaps at a slower rate. It looks like we have cleared about 1000 overnight. (Still above 308K total.) |

I noticed that c112s are much more scarce than the surrounding composites. Your work, or is there a different explanation? I'll keep these machines running here for a while and see where we get. Ed |
