"Fehler: 500" comes up when I try to open the Primality section on (2+6973!)^3-9:

Please fix it.

http:// factordb.com/listtype.php?t=3&start=10163&perpage=100&mindig=596 hangs when I try to access it (I've deliberately added a space in the URL to stop people clicking the link too often).

It took me a while to work out why my script was stuck. My internet connection was flaky yesterday and factordb looked as if it was overloaded by something (load average over 16 one time I looked at the status page).

The status page is truncated after the graph of types of number in it. And the lists of "Probable primes" and "Composite numbers without known factors" are also truncated.

You can the the lists to work by asking for minimum digits of about 45 (I've not tried to work out exactly what the minimum is). So it's probably one or two bad entries in Factordb causing the problems.

The page for listing composites appears to be broken and does not return a listing. According to the status page there are also a bunch of small numbers (as low as 22 digits) that are perhaps blocked?

RichD 2017-02-07 04:47

I was able to identify the first composite.
http://www.factordb.com/index.php?id=1100000000900943057

Manually entering it states:
Error: Not divisible

Appears to be a hierarchy issue with mod & division.

Here is another one. (Along with a lot more.)

I'm guessing evaluating the expression left-to-right and right-to-left both generate an integer. One may be prime and the other is composite. There must be an inconsistency in the database evaluating expressions. I think there was an error in the parser at one time that perhaps was never completely corrected.

I've just sent an email to Markus about the issue. I hope that no one else has already done so. He was quite receptive of my last email, so let's hope that the issue can be fixed soon. He may not check these forums very often.

Can I suggest that we mention here if one of us does send him an email in the future, so that we do not risk annoying him?

Jayder 2017-02-08 22:28

He has replied saying that he will have time to look deeper into the issue on Monday.

Possibly related, I'm hitting some snags in the aliquot sequences.

The last line will show a small composite within and place a larger prime at the end. An example from 733866:
Unchecked
3188 131 (show) 4696225588...82<131> = 2 · 126653 · 188848506888075653748209<24> · 9817251526...33<102>
This is easy to overcome manually, but scripts like ali.pl and mine grab the last number in the last line to factor and with this happening, they keep getting a prime. This is happening more frequently of late.

The above example will be gone by the time this post is read, because I'll have continued on, but just a mention since Syd will be looking at the db sometime soon.

Thanks!
