[Reply here, instead of original thread....]
This number often shows up in wanted lists. I believe Joseph Chein solicited help with this more than five years ago, although I cannot find those posts. My records show 10,000 curves at B1=11e7 and 100 at 26e7. There have almost certainly been more curves that I am unaware of.

Shall we start an ecm effort on this number (6115909044841454629^17-1)?

I don't think so.

Factors would certainly be welcome - it is the number one composite on Pascal's MostWanted list. But it is unlikely to yield to ECM, it's too large for casual NFS and it's too specialized for leading edge NFS. Hence ECM effort is unlikely to find a factor and unlikely to move the number into NFS at this time. If anybody is so reckless as to do ECM anyway, please keep me informed so I can track the work done.

Any further discussion should go to the gratuitous OPN factors thread.

William
I've run some ECM, but it's probably not worth tracking, since it was at a lower level than yours. And I couldn't get GMP-ECM to run curves beyond 110M on it for some reason; I was working on an NFS job, so I didn't take the time to troubleshoot it.....maybe I will now.
