Create a file in the same directory in exactly the same format as worktodo.txt but name it worktodo.add.
Within less than 5 minutes prime95 will notice it is there and add that new work for each worker specified to the end of worktodo.txt...and delete that worktodo.add
LOL... Thanks petrw1. We are on the same wave length. But, at least with mprime, it can take much longer than five minutes to "see" the file. But it does. |
I've found that if I change worktodo without restarting Prime95 (oh dear) then Test/Status doesn't pick up the changes, hence my theory above.
Precisely. That is the main indication that Prime95 has to be stopped, exited and then restarted whenever you make changes to worktodo.txt with the program running. |
So, by extension, if you reboot and use "N/A" as the AID you don't lose the assignment?
Trying to get to the bottom of this.
Yes, this is true. Doug |
Yes, this is true.
Doug
Or if you use worktodo.add...then you don't have to reboot prime |
Absolutely. I agree it´s the best thing to do.
Or if you use worktodo.add...then you don't have to reboot prime
I'll try this at my next opportunity ... Doug |
I've been adding stuff out of order...
I've been adding stuff out of order...
So? |
worktodo.add only adds stuff at the end of the current list
|
worktodo.add only adds stuff at the end of the current list
By definition. Is that a problem? |
I meant that the method won't work for me because I usually put things in out of order. That's why I said "I've been adding stuff out of order..." in response to the discussion about worktodo.add
