I would guess, optimal use of GPU?
Certainly. George already explained that. CudaLucas uses FFT sizes which are powers of two only. A 70M exponent would use same FFT size as a 52M exponent (which size is somehow an overkill for the last - smaller - expo). The best gain CL will give you is when you LL expos just a bit below of an upper limit. |

I'd say at least a couple of bits below... :smile: Luigi |
OK. I'll take the first two.
72000209 72000283 70-74. EDIT: Running.
About 3-1/2 hours to go. I never ran anything up to 74 before. I knew they would take quite a while, but did not really think through the numbers. So it still kind of surprised me (though it shouldn't have) to find them still running this morning. |
Could someone run (all or some of) these from 74 to 79?

I still have 3h left on my second exponent. How the hell have you finished already? I'll take the last three again.
Factor=332250241,74,79 Factor=332250257,74,79 Factor=332250461,74,79
|
okay I'll grab the rest.

hhehe I should of checked how much work that was.

Sweet! GPUs have saved me from needless work once again. Many thanks! |
I got a charge out of it, seeing the results. I had never run anything in those ranges, either (up to 74, 72M exponent.):smile:
Thanks on this end, too. Glad to help out! |
A humble suggestion
Would it not benefit GIMPS if a few more of the LLs currently being dished out were TFed adequately?
Broken Record PS Why should the "expiry time" for TF assignments be anywhere near to that for a LL? And why do some folk (no names/no packdrill) hoard 6000 TF assignments at once, when those assignments could be distributed? |
