Sigh. My Best Friend's Girl
Edit: Sorry, I can't read enough of the NYT obit to know if I am repeating, but this song hooked me, back in the day.

That 1978 debut album by The Cars was one of the first LPs I owned, and was the bomb - 40 years later, the songs still sound great. I see bassist Ben Orr died (at 53, pancreatic cancer) already back in 2000.

The conflicted feelings are part of the charm. Sounds like the friend is still "best."

Dan tells me that Orr was also the singer, which I had not known. I really liked/like his voice and delivery.

It is interesting that the model seen in the 'Drive' Cars clip married Rick and stayed with him for decades (though not till the very end).

Per IMDB, Ocasek had 3 wives over the decades (and 2 kids with each) with more or less no gaps between models - the last one was the hot Czech import. I see Paulina P. was born in 1965, which is roughly your age ... ex-g/f of yours, Sergey? "She left me for a musician", it's a story as old as humanity, my friend...
