Rest in Peace. We hope he found his own black hole and watch over us from there...

I mourn his passing, and give thanks and praises for his exemplary life. My father died from ancillary effects from ALS. It is amazing that Hawking survived for so many years.

This newspaper heading expresses it best.

Roger Penrose has written a good obituary for Stephen Hawking:

That is a truly marvelous tribute.
This Ian Dury ditty occurred to me, flippant though it is. Note the Einstein reference. Here are two of the choruses:[INDENT] There ain't half been some clever bastards
(Lucky bleeders, lucky bleeders)

Sadly, a giant among us is no more.

I wonder if he had any of his famous bets pending?

Strange that this happened on Pi Day, of all days. What a coincidence...

Also the birthday of Albert Einstein (even more appropriate)

Posts 755-756 are very non Mathematicians'. I know because I do the same.
Thanks for making me realise there are only 365 days to this year and all its anniversaries.
Should not make things more (or less) than they are.

I wasn’t aware that Fun Stiff>Lounge and the RIP thread needed to be mathematical. But let’s not quibble about that,
