EDIT: The style of the giant head makes me think of several public monuments in Mexico, DF. The figures there are stern and resolute, and in some cases we saw, of decidedly Indigenous extraction.

Makes me think of an interesting combination of Easter Island stone head, heroic Soviet-style concrete architecture, and a repurposed flak tower, WW2 Berlin-style.

Gene was great - absolutely unforgettable in "The Producers" (way before this century's Broadway and film remake, there was this rather obscure 1967 gem), but not bad in a string of slapstick comedies like "See No Evil, Hear No Evil" or "Silver Streak"...

Most curiously, last night was the broadcast of a cooking competition segment that had been promoted heavily for many week.
Likely the TV network reckoned that seeing a dessert floating in the air due to magnets would be a great draw to viewers.
The program was obviously recorded many weeks ago, with tribute to Willy Wonka.
