Ann Reinking

Ann Reinking, dancer extraordinaire and choreographer, died in her sleep at age 71.
Ann did her best work on Broadway but her dancing talent was also showcased in the Bob Fosse biopic, "All That Jazz"
There is a quick, 4 or 5 second scene toward the end of that movie in which Ann leaps straight up into the air and when she reaches the apex, she does a straight out kick! Marvelous!

They advised: don't bring him home. It was better to institutionalize him early, his parents were told.

John and Esther Cusack's first step toward challenging the status quo was bringing their son home. They raised him, loved him and nurtured him the same as his four sisters.

Their support allowed Moose to become a champion.

As a 12-year-old, he competed at Soldier Field with a thousand other athletes, some swimming in an above ground 4-foot lap pool as others ran around a track at the first ever Special Olympics in 1968.

He won his first medal there: 25-yard freestyle swim, gold.
Would you mind sharing the source?

I was unable to find any by doing a web search. "Wikipedia says", he is still living (which, of course, itself does not mean anything).

If he really died, xilman must have gotten the information before the media.
Part of my career I'm very proud of is the work I've done over John Harrison. I came across him in Dava Sobel's book Longitude and thought: "That's interesting, I wonder how Harrison is honoured in Britain?" The answer was "not at all", so I set about changing it. I'm a member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and I had them institute a medal, the Harrison Medal, which was not a trivial task. Dava Sobel was awarded the second such Medal and when we were chatting I wondered about a memorial for John Harrison in Westminster Abbey. She said "we tried and failed" and I realized that this was a cause for me. I got the historical good and great on-side, the Dean of Westminster Abbey agreed, and we had exhibitions and published a little book, and raised the £30 000 we needed. I think the memorial is in a good position — next to the grave of Livingstone and that shared by Tompion and Graham.
Well done, Sir Arnold! Requiescat in pace
Finding a host that 'clicks' might be difficult. I think that Alex did discuss it with the producers. I think that Ken Jennings will be the first to host.

His being the host would have the additional advantage that he couldn't be a contestant.

Remaining shows already recorded will be shown through December 25.
Just a reminder, today is the last original Alex Trebek episode to air. This week they aired some classic episodes. So set your DVR's and grab some tissues.

I have been corrected:
No, it's not. They decided to do two weeks of retrospective episodes instead, highlighting Alex's travels. The last week of originals will be Jan 4-8.
