The friends we stayed with in San Diego have two cats. Pablo is eighteen years old, and very thin. Will says he eats and poops a lot. Under the long hair, he was like petting a skeleton, and I felt I had to be especially sensitive with little flesh to pad things. He gets around quite well, though carefully. One can imagine he has sore joints. He come up and talks at you every so often, in a very plaintive tone. In the first two pictures he seems to be toasting the root of his tail in the sun. Something was irritating him there. I came back from a store run, unloaded, and leaving bags on the floor. In a minute or so, Pablo was sniffing, and then lying on the softer bag.

Ansel is young, but full grown: full of piss and vinegar. Sneaky, and looks for chances to get out. These are totally house cats. He also disappears for long periods and is difficult or impossible to find. He has turned up in large cooking pots, in paint roller pans, just in my knowledge. He came up on the sofa arm, by where I was sitting. My camera was in reach so I was able to document his transition from sofa arm, to leg, to lap. He moved in and took up grooming. I had to lean back as far as I could stretch to get him close to focus.

Vaginal Sushi...
 

Some good friends of ours are visiting from England, and so we invited them and several others over for lunch.

I made lots of sushi, and did an experiment. I had never done an "inside out roll" before, so I tried it with smoked salmon loxs.

Major disaster... While it tasted great, I put down too much rice, and so the rolls were too thick. Also, the results looked a bit like the genitalia of ~50% of the human population....

Either your mind is dirtier than mine or you have seen in your life more of those anatomic parts than me in my life... For me they just look like some failed sushi... :razz:

Rather than sit in your house, go out and enjoy nature.

The only guy at any significant risk is the one close to an adult hippo. Hippos are mean bastards --- they kill more people each year than lions and crocogaters combined.

I don't envy the one with the polar bear either... I have just seen few days ago a video with some friends visiting a safari, where a lion opened the door of the car and put its head inside, luckily the people only got scared out of their pants (and the lion also got scared by the screams of men and women together, the men could scream louder than the women, haha), but it could have been a lot worse...
