Doubled compute power for a day?
 

Hey!
Just looked at the work map, noticed a 1-day spike roughly doubling Primenet's compute capacity 4 days ago....

Is that real? Or did Xyzzy or someone turn in a pile of TF from his GPU? Or did some other massive compute project (like NSF@home) go temporarily idle?

That would be the culprit. Whenever you see an unusually high daily TFLOPS value, you can look in the "Recently Cleared" exponents report, and usually you will find some big player has turned in gobs of P-1's, TF to high bit levels, or in some cases, a large sequence of doublechecks. In this case, it was Xyzzy with a large number of high-bit TFs in (IIRC) the 53M range.

How many assignments do you reserve/report at a time then? Got to be close on 1000, I'd imagine...

Sheesh. Wow. Holy crap. And I thought my throughput was high.

Is it that time again? Current throughput registers 100 TFLOPS

Edit: Found this. Of course, the only LL reported in that time period was curtisc. lol
