Should a mod change the title, seeing as the sub-megabit candidates have all (for the tested k values) been tested into megabit territory? Maybe temporarily rename sub-mebibit?

1010-1015 complete, one prime (2113*2^1014875-1).

Given the proximity of this drive to the 5000th prime, should we make a push to get this drive into safety, or let it die?

I'm afraid we cannot save this one.
We better try to save the 8th Drive. |

We better try to save the 8th Drive.
As I told before we have a bunch of drives and we should stick with our main goal that is to test candidates below k<300 as far as we can and all at the same level. RPS was first started as the latter goal, for k's below 300. The rest of the k's leave to others otherwise we will spread out our resources and lose our ranking entering at top 5000. I will concentrate on k=5. This next month I won't be paid half of my salary so I won't have money to buy a core i7 4470 but in October I will. Already asking for some budgets. Carlos |
Progress of 10k/week would be sufficient to save this one- but it doesn't sound like there's interest. I, for one, like having a variety of n-values available in drives; but with just a dozen cores I can't do enough.
If this is kept above the top5000 line, I'll reserve files here after my current 8th drive reservation. |
