Love it! Reminds me of a programmer I used to work with. He could quickly check whether two files were identical, but instead of producing some boring checksum for each, he converted them into a random sentence. I do miss the camraderie of working with a small group of similar-minded folk, but mersenneforum is a good substitute! David |
I was sitting at a train station in germany a while ago, occasionally overhearing a group of high-school aged kids talking. At that point in the trip I was used to not understanding anything that was said around me, so it was unusual in that I noticed something familar about the german they were speaking.
Right around the time that I started feeling proud of myself for finally understanding some german, I realized that they were speaking english! Just a hopelessly mangled and accented version of it. I, on the other hand, spoke American, and so what they were saying made as much sense to me as the web site I linked to . |

More time needed. Not surprising for a challenge set by someone who has just completed a Listener crossword. A frivolous attempt at "three plates <> 1 pipe":
3 feet=1 yard mais ceci n'est pas une pipe
Or perhaps it is? Do you remember the "hints" in that silly game show "3-2-1"? David |
