Fun with the new Mersenne prime exponent
M#40 has exponent p = 20996011. Anyone notice that...
(1) p-1 = 2*3^4*5*7^2*23^2 is extremely smooth, and (2) If you punch p into your hand calculator and turn the display upside down, you see 11096602. Beside the fact that p is "upside-downable," can anyone see anything special about its upsidedown partner d? |
If you ask google, 11096602 leads you to an article about Coagulopathy of Liver Disease
110-96602 points to an article about Lithofacies and Palynostratigraphy of Some Cretaceous and Paleocene Rocks, Surghar and Salt Range Coal Fields, Northern Pakistan Maybe 11096602 is slightly deranged or had a bad childhood? |
Oops, it's 11096-602 pointing to those things in Pakistan. Sorry.
If you calculate 110 minus 096602 (-96 492) that leads to a link to an Oasis Promo CD scnr |
Wow - just came across this old thread while doing some housekeeping - and I must confess, I have no clue what I was on about with my "can anyone see anything special?" query.
Early-onset Alzheimer's sucks. :( |

(Or maybe I'm only a deranged nutball at the Free-DC forum) /me thinks about a guy named Robert, the most unstable person I've ever decided I liked. Now HE was a nutball. Had a temper, but never hit anybody that I know of. |
