We did have something working for intel iGPU's a while back.. but it really wasn't worth it. I think we got less than 20 GHz/days if i recall correctly and not much more was done on that.
Ah. I did try changing GPUType to CPU and SieveOnGPU to 0, but now I'm getting an out of resources error.

I got it to work! All I had to do was download the AMD APP SDK, and then run mfakto.

Yeah, but I only get 0.1% every 5 MINUTES with my CPU.

(I need a better laptop. HP OMEN looks cool and it has Nvidia GForce GTX 1050.)

Is there a macOS build of mfakto?

wedgingt 2017-05-28 21:16

Changes ?

I see that https://github.com/Bdot42/mfakto has not changed in a year but I had to make some small changes to compile cleanly on Cygwin and on Ubuntu 16.

Should I request a push there ? Or create a branch ?

I've used git some but not github.com.

Thanks, Will

P.S. Compiling on a Mac should be pretty simple but I don't have one so ...

I have a 0.14 build from a while ago on macOS, so I know it works but I had to make quite a few changes to the opencl kernels to get it going.

Do you have it uploaded somewhere? I'd love to try it out!

has anyone checked for systems missing factors lately?

Saw http://mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=21705 and wondered if such a check has been made this year.

I have approaced bdot and I am waiting to here whether it is feasible/possible to compile for use on a Mac. There may be other issues with the AMD SDK etc, though.

I don't have any experience with MacOS and I have never tried to compile it for MacOS ... so no idea.
However, mfakto does not use anything special, just the OpenCL APIs. If they are all supported on MacOS, then it should compile. If the driver is behaving differently, then the selftest should throw some errors.
