mfaktc slows on WinXP after about an hour

Hi Oliver:

What do you make of mfaktc 0.17 running on a GEForce GTX 210 under 32 bit WinXP for about an hour on 53M TF, at about 5.77M/s, then suddenly dropping the rate to 1/10th that over two print samples?

It speeds back up if I hit ctrl-C and restart it....then does the same thing after another hour...

Didi you use any monitor power-saving tool? When I wake up my monitor moving the mouse, I have the same behavior.

My only solution to this is to disable "monitor off". Any better suggestions? Environment here is a Sandy Bridge notebook with Nvidia Optimus.

I can check for that, but I was using the monitor for at least a few minutes afterward; this machine has to do other kinds of work besides prime hunting, like writing programs and documents. Won't know until late Monday, when, hopefully, the servers at work will be replaced and internet access restored.

It's a week later now, what was the case?

I'm not using any monitor power-saving tool besides the screen saver, and turned off the power saving stuff for the CPU and it didn't help. I suppose I could disable the screen saver (it's not a CRT that needs saving, after all, just a new flat panel, but I'd rather get P95 out of this machine for the weekend.
