'Banned' is simply a tongue-in-cheek signature. He is not banned. :et_:

The admin here is a bit of an eccentric, it's all in good fun. :grin:

Mad, bad and dangerous to know
 

I enjoyed the dubious distinction of a 7day ban a year or so ago.

I received a PM kindly informing me that he was fed up
with dealing with the traffic of complaints (I was encouraged by/encouraging HRB at the time).

The (presumed) Supermod concerned declined to identify him(/her)self.

Maybe this is standard practice and/or a collective decision,
or the author assumed I would know him.

If the latter, I narrowed it down to George, Ernst, Paul, William
or one of the snakes/gerbils.

That happened long ago, when I became aware of some piece of information related to MODS and disclosed them. I was not really banned, though: just a joke-reminder about not disclosing anything anymore... I guess.

So far the guinea pig avatar hasn't had any text added to it. But I think I was once indirectly responsible for encouraging the gerbils to add a description to someone else's front end for a time. During a discussion in the soap box I referred to the person in passing as a "relative newcomer to the forum": I can be quite direct like that though I didn't mean to be insulting and I was quite surprised when the person reacted furiously to this factual description as if stung by a wasp. Then I had to laugh when I saw later that this same text had been added to the guy's avatar and stayed there for months afterwards.
