Number of LLR tests completed so far?

Does anyone (Max, maybe?) know how many k/n pairs were completed on the LLRnet and PRPnet servers? I'm thinking it's around half a million, but I'd like a more precise number.

Also, have there been any weird residues found by TPS crunchers? I'm talking about residues containing things like CAFEBABE, BADF00D, DEC0DE, or ABCDEF. With so many tests completed, there's bound to be something strange out there.

kar_bon 2011-04-27 08:48

Look at a CRUS-Thread here for some mentionable residuals and other suggestions.

NPLB has also done about 25 Mio LLR-tests, but I've not yet checked them all for things like you suggested.

actual NPLB residual searches moved to other thread:

The PRPnet server does keep its own internal count (add the "tests performed" column over all the user stats entries; note that team stats won't work for this since they were added in a server upgrade after the server had been around for a while). However, for LLRnet, one would have to take each individual daily results file (available at http://www.noprimeleftbehind.net/tps/results/llrnet/), do a line count, and divide by 3. It probably could be done somewhat automatically: use wget or the like to selectively download all the appropriate files in one swoop, concatenate them together, and use "wc -l" on the concatenated file to get the line count. (Note that this assumes ability of Unix command-line tools, i.e. either under Linux, or Cygwin on Windows.)

As of this writing, 214090 tests have been completed on the PRPnet server. The LLRnet total is left as an exercise for the reader.

It's because the PRPnet server is running a very old PRPnet version. I need to upgrade it to the latest for it to be compatible with current clients (something that I've been putting off for way too long due to being busy in personal life).

In the meantime, the "solution" is to run an older PRPnet client version matching the server. :ermm:
It's because the PRPnet server is running a very old PRPnet version. I need to upgrade it to the latest for it to be compatible with current clients (something that I've been putting off for way too long due to being busy in personal life).

In the meantime, the "solution" is to run an older PRPnet client version matching the server. :ermm:
Unfortunately, you also need an older cllr version (much slower!), not just an older PRPnet client version.

I've managed to receive tests and submit results using the older cllr version and the older PRPnet version. However, if I use the latest cllr version (3.8.20), it allows me to receive tests but not submit them. This happened even though the PRPnet client version that I was using remained the same.

Max or Gary, could you update this to be compatible with current clients?

Update: I've played around with this a bit and found that the server doesn't accept results from cllr version 3.8.15 and newer, but it does accept results from cllr version 3.8.14. There is a small speed hit because of this, but it's something I can live with for now since the speed decrease is only about 10%.

Yes, because of the old prpnet server software, only prpnet clients up to 5.3.1 can connect. You can use the download section by rebirther in the Boinc Confederation Forum: https://www.bc-team.org/app.php/dlext/?cat=3

Be aware, you must also use an old llr software (you can find here: http://jpenne.free.fr/index2.html). The maximum version is 3.8.14. If you use newer versions, the upload of the results failed because of an incompartible output line.

Gee, another backwards incompatible change in LLR (the result output format, to go along with Fermat PRPs in 3.8.24) without bumping even to 3.9? Gah! [/gripe]
