Brian is a little off-base about my intent to mention "pledge" here. I often talk about Soapbox issues here and but in a general topical sense only. I bring up votes, political machinations, word play and current events all the time. It would be disingenuous to say that I was unaware that my remarks could also be interpreted individually more specific but I dislike shibboleths and that was my focus when I mentioned "pledge."

I enjoy that the form of reply here to match a six letter word template is the primary thing that makes a entry on-topic so for the actual content I generally just chat about what is on my mind. That the structure allows a message in this thread to be topical was on my mind when I created the Devil's Dictionary thread to be similar.

What was on my mind was Japanese American citizen internment during World War Two, including a high school art teacher of mine, and how [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Inouye"]Dan Inouye[/URL] was refused hair-cut service while he was dressed in his service uniform in San Francisco. I'm thinking about the similarities to marginalizing rights of Arab Americans but that is all grist for the Soapbox; I had no intent to be personally specific in a Lounge recreation area.
