20 Questions Round 8
The goal is to guess what the OP is thinking of, within 20 questions (as a group).
The current rule set:

The original poster will state the general type (for the item thought of): animal, vegetable, mineral, mixed (to be used only when the object is quite mixed), other.
Yes or No are the main answers. The OP will try to stick with those without explanation.
Questions will be taken in turn. i.e. The second question may not be asked until the first is answered.
If the answer is "yes", the asker of that question gets to ask the next question, they may not ask it before the previous question has been answered. If the answer is "no", someone else gets to ask the next question and the asker that got the "no" answer must wait 24 hours before they can ask another question.
The asker must mark their post with the question number.
There maybe a 21st question of "Is it....", provided that the 20th question was answered "yes".
If it is successfully guessed, the one that got it gets to think up the next item.
Except 'point of order' posts, recaps, and clarifications: side discussions are discouraged.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20_Questions Category: Mineral SHA-1: 316e5a8cfa7fb4ec3513148f8a6ebe1b13419981 |
1) Is the mineral man-made ?
No, by no means. |
2) Is it a specific thing? (To clarify what I mean: Mount Everest or the Atlantic Ocean are specific, a mountain or water are not.)
|
2) Is it a specific thing? (To clarify what I mean: Mount Everest or the Atlantic Ocean are specific, a mountain or water are not.)
Yes, indeed it is.
|
3) Is it located at the surface (sea-level or ground-level) of the Earth?
The next question is for someone else regardless of the answer. |
3) Is it located at the surface (sea-level or ground-level) of the Earth?
If this was the 40 questions version, I might spin this....
But, with out dispute, it quite apparently is. Yes. |
Does anyone recall "What's my line?"?
(Notably hosted by Eamon Andrews) A conspiracy theorist might think that the panel had been tipped off beforehand. If so, it certainly didn't come across like that. Answers were strictly Y or N, and they usually sussed it. Ditto "20 Questions". I know I haven't contributed much to these multitudinous self duplicating threads so far but... ***k it. Forgotten my question now. PS I thought "Through the keyhole" was distinctly suspect with regard to being rigged. (Frequent appearance of morons on the panel probably necessitated this). Come to think of it, I never really took to David Frost either. Oh yes. Is this a dying art, or is the game a bit "Passee"? Isobel Barnett Is she the next question? ****** I've already said the answer. |
3) Is it located at the surface (sea-level or ground-level) of the Earth?
Yes.
|
4) In its normal state, is it larger than 900 ft. in any direction?
|
4) In its normal state, is it larger than 900 ft. in any direction?
Yes, quite so.
