heh, you are in for a surprize if you think that these statuses are up to date, or if a blank line implies no reservation. I know that I was.
Ok, if you insist: Hint 1:
I updated the FDB sequences where his pages where ahead a month ago.
Hint 2:
Check out 7920.
Hint 3:
...oh wait, don't tell me. 7920 is in an interesting state and is unreserved. Don't you want to take it?
Hint 4:
there is a downdriver ahead in 7920, but no, you cannot have it; it is reserved.
Hint 5:
the downdriver ends up with 2^2 * 7. It is unreserved now.
|

It's mostly up to date. He doesn't list LaruV's reservation, and no one's told him about 2484, 3366, 6552, and 7044 being unreserved. Everything else matches what's in the lead post here. (And I had assumed, being that we are all directed to ask him before working in that range, that anything blank is assumed to be worked on by him unless he says otherwise. I had been wondering why you added 7920 to our table. That's why I want to email him, so that he knows no one here is working on those four sequences. 2484 is somewhat juicy, being < 155 digits with no driver.) |
I am not saying that there's anything wrong with his reservation system or that I spent any of my time time on 7920 (the data in the hints is from Clavier), but it is far from transparent.
schickel (or Batalov or anyone else), have you been updating M. Clavier about 3366 and now 2484, or shall I?
After initially informing Christophe of the interest by parties here in working on any of "his" sequences, I ASS-U-MEd that anyone working on a sequence reserved by them would keep Christophe informed, unless they specifically told me that they weren't updating him. (I also sent him updates as we made progress on 4788. I dropped the ball there when 4788 became "uninteresting"; Maybe I should get in touch with him and see if he's totally up-to-date.)
It's mostly up to date. He doesn't list LaruV's reservation, and no one's told him about 2484, 3366, 6552, and 7044 being unreserved.
I informed him of (at least) LaurV, but he hasn't updated his webpage to reflect that info yet; in fact, if you look, he hasn't updated his site since 4/26, so I would make sure to contact him before starting anything substantial.
Also, back when we were bumping up against the 10k char limit on the reservation post, I made a unilateral decision to leave (most of) my reservations out of the reservation post, since all mine were way above where anyone would (potentially) take an interest in them....in fact, if you check the end of this post, you can see where 7044 is at.
30 lines beyond where Chirstophe shows it.
I would tend to believe that what is going on here is that most of us don't have automated tools in place to keep things up-to-date, coupled with a (possibly severe) lack of time to keep things as neat and tidy as might be wished by some..... |
Reservations have been getting lost a lot recently. Maybe it's time to start giving them satnavs instead of maps.
I see one possible reason reservations get lost: if I visit and there are several reservation posts, I will scroll up the posts, adding/deleting reservations as I go. If I reach a post where the reservation info has already been updated, I assume everything above that post has already been updated by someone else earlier.
The upshot of which is: if someone makes a reservation post, then updates the top post, but does not check the posts above their reservation post and update as needed, reservations above that particular post will probably not get udpated (unless someone is scanning the whole thread). Therefore, if a reservation gets lost, please PM me and I will add/delete it as needed.....I try to visit every day, but some days I'm a little more time contrained than others. |
